These terms explain the use of the Shelfcove website and purchases made through our online bookstore. Please read them together with our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, and Privacy Policy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Using our store
You must be legally able to enter into a purchase agreement, or use the store with the involvement of a parent or guardian who is responsible for the purchase. Please provide accurate contact, billing, and delivery details and use only payment methods you are authorized to use.
You may browse and purchase for lawful purposes. Do not misuse another person’s information, interfere with the store’s security, submit fraudulent orders, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
Books, editions, and availability
Review the title, ISBN where provided, edition, language, format, and contents of any bundle before ordering. A paperback, hardcover, code book, and handbook may be different products. If a detail is missing or unclear, contact us before placing your order.
Product photographs help identify the item, but screen colours and publisher cover designs may vary. A photograph does not change the edition, format, or contents described in the listing. If the delivered item does not match the order, contact us under our Refund Policy.
Prices, availability, and product information can change for future orders. If we identify an error or cannot supply an item you ordered, we will contact you about the available options. We will not impose an increased price or a materially different substitute without your agreement. If the order cannot be fulfilled, the affected payment will be refunded.
Prices and payment
The store’s base currency is U.S. dollars. Review the currency and complete total shown at checkout before submitting payment. Your bank or payment provider may apply its own currency-conversion or other charges under your agreement with it.
Shipping charges and any tax charged are shown before the order is placed. Product tax treatment is not a statement that every purchaser or transaction is legally exempt from tax.
Payments are processed through WooPayments and its payment partners. Available cards, wallets, and instalment methods are displayed during checkout and can vary by device, location, order value, and provider eligibility. Any financing or instalment arrangement is subject to the provider’s separate terms and approval; advertised payment examples are not a promise of approval.
Orders and confirmations
An order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order details. Orders remain subject to payment authorization, availability, and confirmation that we can fulfil them. Keep your order number and contact us if the details are incorrect or you do not receive an expected acknowledgement.
We may decline or cancel an order when payment is not authorized, an item is unavailable, details cannot be verified, or there is a reasonable concern about fraud or unlawful use. If a cancelled order has already been paid, we will refund the affected amount. We will not use this provision to remove rights you have under consumer law.
Shipping, changes, and cancellations
Shipping destinations, costs, processing times, tracking, and delivery problems are explained in our Shipping Policy. Delivery estimates include separate processing and transit periods and are not guaranteed arrival dates.
Contact us as soon as possible to request a cancellation or address change. We will try to help before dispatch, but cannot guarantee a change once fulfilment has begun. If dispatch is delayed, your cancellation and refund options are described in the Shipping Policy. After dispatch, refer to our Refund Policy.
Returns, refunds, and order problems
Contact us with your order number if a book is damaged, defective, incorrect, missing, or otherwise not as described. Our Refund Policy explains how to request assistance. Please obtain return instructions before sending books back. Nothing in our policies limits a remedy that applicable law provides.
Accounts and communications
You can use guest checkout or create an account where offered. Keep your login details private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account activity. Order, shipping, payment, and support messages are service communications; they are separate from any optional marketing subscription.
Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy describes the handling of information used to operate the store and fulfil orders. Payment services and external websites may have their own privacy notices and terms. A link to an external website does not make Shelfcove responsible for that website’s content or services.
Copyright and reference materials
Book text, cover artwork, trademarks, and other protected material belong to their respective rights holders. Buying a physical book does not transfer copyright or authorize copying or redistribution beyond what the law permits. Use of a publisher’s name or product title identifies the product and does not itself imply that the publisher endorses Shelfcove.
Professional, technical, medical, and legal publications are reference materials. Check that the edition is appropriate to your intended use and local requirements; purchasing a book from us is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
Website availability and consumer rights
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but interruptions and errors can occur. Contact us if an error affects your order. Website availability statements do not excuse us from fulfilling an accepted order or providing an applicable refund.
Applicable consumer law takes priority over conflicting wording in these terms. These terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive your right to seek remedies from a court, regulator, payment provider, or other body where available under law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new date. Changes apply prospectively and do not retrospectively reduce the rights attached to an earlier purchase.
