One Piece Manga Box Sets 1 & 2: Volumes 1-46 by Eiichiro Oda

One Piece is over a hundred volumes long, which is why most people never start it. These first two box sets solve that: volumes 1 to 46 take you from Luffy leaving his village to the end of Water Seven — far enough to know for certain whether the next sixty volumes are for you.

What’s in the collection

• Box Set 1 (volumes 1-23): East Blue and Baroque Works — assembling the Straw Hat crew and entering the Grand Line
• Box Set 2 (volumes 24-46): Skypiea and Water Seven, including the Enies Lobby build-up widely regarded as the series’ turning point
• Right-to-left Japanese reading format, as originally published

Why start here

Volumes 1-46 cover the stretch where Oda’s world-building consolidates and the crew is complete. Readers who finish Water Seven almost never stop; readers who bounce off usually do so in the first ten volumes, which this set lets you discover for a fraction of the complete collection’s price.

Who it’s for

New One Piece readers, anime viewers switching to print, and gift buyers who want to start someone on the series without a $650 commitment.
