The Bhagavad Gita by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

The Bhagavad Gita in the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust’s English edition — the presentation of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, which is by some distance the most widely distributed Gita in the world.

About the text

Seven hundred verses set on a battlefield, in which Arjuna refuses to fight and Krishna answers him. The conversation moves from a soldier’s specific crisis to duty, action without attachment to its results, the nature of the self, and the paths of knowledge, work and devotion — which is why a text framed as a war story has been read for two millennia as a manual for ordinary life.
